The order of operations
should be respected. Darla taught me that just because I was distracted and forgot to put on a fresh diaper after tossing the old one, she would not forget to pee. On me.

Diaper Watch 2011
Jax has been doing a lot of baby sitting lately. Today she texted me a request. NO MORE GREEN BEANS before she has to watch Darla. It makes for some smelly diapers! I think it is funny that it gives her gas. She sounds like an old-fashioned cartoon car putt-putting.
Also in Darla news, last night Darla made her first half Crawl. She managed to move one knee and one arm…but not the other before she collapsed. Point of interest: she did this for Jax and not for me. *sigh.
She definitely likes to have someone in the room with her and will scream at the indignity of being left alone in her crib.
Also, every day i stand her on my lap and hold her hands. we have a dance to the words “mamamamama – dadada-JACKIE-Grandpa is the best”. It used to be “momamamamomamama-dadadadad-BATMAN-Grandpa is the best”, but then i became concerned with the idea that her first word would be BATMAN. (still better than JAx’s first word of “bottle”.)

Yesterday Darla reached into my bag of chips, pulled out a chip, licked it with slobbery gusto and then CrUnCh!!! She ate half of it: So I am thinking we will be moving to solid foods.
June 17th , Darla Update
Darla is scooting around on her belly a lot. Actually she has been “crib swimming” since I brought her home, but now she moves with purpose . Only after she reaches her destination: she assumes the crawling stance.
She enjoys Similac, I tried switching her to Enfamil but it makes her poops stink and she pukes it up…so we will switch back. And did I mention it gives her gas that sounds like the mating call of a Bull Elephant?
She babbles and screeches, but mostly laughs at everything.
I think she knows how to reach around to my neck and pull out the hairs there. When I have freshly washed hair – she tries to eat it.
She can sit up by herself for a short period of time and her eyes are still dark blue, and hair is getting thicker and darker.
She recognized folks and looks us right in the eye.

I am sending Jackie, The Bonus Kids, DC, and Ric to Golf and Stuff for MiniGolf and a BBQ. When they get back, maybe Darla and I will have made these yummy treats!
