UnMask the Cure with the Pacific Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute

leave a comment »

This Thursday I will see this mask, painted by Mark Hamill, in person. Find me at the #unmaskthecure fundraiser focusing on chest cancers and hosted by Jamie Foxx. It is an event for the Pacific Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

Why do I care about this? Well, Melanie Nelson, one of Darla’s sisters, has asthma and it has always been pretty serious. This is something I can do to make the world better for her.

Darla made an altar for her angel grandmother on Day of the Dead.

If you can never die until you are forgotten, in my mom might live forever.

Also she’d be very critical of the altar because it doesn’t have the right kind of flowers and we’re not Hispanic.
