Almost killed
I had to come home and sit down and take a deep breath. As we cross the street to walk Darla to school a car came screaming at us and did a u-turn within inches of Darla Street.
I don’t understand people who drive like idiots in a school zone. I don’t understand people who don’t look carefully at an intersection.
Charlie was shaking and scared and so was I. She looked at me and told me she had almost died and I could not disagree with her.
I desperately wanted to track that driver downtown and smack her.
I did see that Mom walking her kids to school on my walk home and I stopped her to tell her that if she did it again I would "key the crap" out of her car. She tried to look innocent and I pointed to her two boys and asked what she would do if I came within inches of hitting them. She tried to look defiant but I could see the fear in her eyes.
I wish everybody would think that every child, or better, every person is their relative and drive accordingly.
This was almost my last photo of Darla and that is not acceptable.
Drive safer.
